DFL 2005
Week 2: (In)Justice

Top Story: Sweet (In)Justice: The Genius Still Winless; Thunderfleas Undefeated

Sometimes a journalist must be the bearer of bad news. Such catastrophes as the Indian Ocean tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, and Joey Harrington come to mind.

Other times, journalism, especially fake journalism, is a joy. Such catastrophes as the first eight weeks of Sandy's 2004 season come to mind.

This week brings such joy once again the staff of The Opus.

The Genius scored 68 points, the fourth highest in the league for the week, but lost to Stop Your Begging. Meanwhile, Thunderfleas scored only 37 points, the second lowest point total of the week, but still managed to win by three over low-score-of-the-week New Potatoes and improve to 2-0.

The Genius has the highest point total by far of the winless teams, well ahead of the lossless Thunderfleas.

Trump Over?

Trump Overexposed posted a very strong score for the second week in a row, 72 points. Unfortunately, their opponent, Steel Warriors scored 83 to win by five and leave The Donald with the highest losing score of the week.

Still, is Trump for real this year? Time will tell.

(Are the Steel Warriors for real? Time will tell.)

A New Devil And Daniel W.

In an ongoing effort to smear any available target in the DFL, The Opus would like to draw the league's attention to a proposed trade from the last week.

Hey thunderfleas,

This trade has been proposed to you in The DFL (187154).

The Hombres   Thunderfleas
D. Blaylock [ View Trade ] D. Branch

Comments from The Hombres:
Curtis Martin is hurt so Blaylock is looking like the starter this Sunday. Don't know how much time Martin may miss.

Martin's MRI came back negative shortly after this trade was proposed, and he didn't miss a game.

The Opus hates to play the race card (the staff is above such low-brow, cater-to-the-masses, Fox News hatemongering) but <flip> race card! Asians are not to be trusted when it comes to trading in the DFL! Be forewarned! Also, Caucasians (known in some circles as "Cock Asians") are not to be trusted. In fact, the only fellow owners that can be trusted implicitly are those that are bred of a balanced mixture of these two flagrantly untrustworthy extremes.

Blacks and Jews (Safardic only!) could be trusted in certain circumstances. Latinas (but, interestingly, not Latinos) may also be trusted in trades involving kickers and defenses.

League Poll: Thunderfleas League's Most Popular Team!

A face-to-face poll of DFL owners this week revealed the deep love and admiration the league holds for Thunderfleas. Fully half of the DFL owners surveyed indicated that the Thunderfleas are their favorite team and that they root for the Thunderfleas regardless of opponent.

This poll has a margin of error of +0%/-41.7%.
