Opus 2005 Commitment To Mediocrity

Last year, the Opus made it as far as week 8. Some fans of the Opus (read: DFL owners tired of reading ESPN, Craig's List, and Fark) suggested that something posted every week was better than nothing, and that, even when I didn't have time to apply myself and reach my usual level of absolute hilarity and long-lasting entertainment value, I at least post some piece of sh*t announcing Sandy's loss and giving closure to the week.

So, to meet demand, the Opus is lowering the bar and making a commitment to you, our reading public, to be mediocre as frequently as possible. Sometimes on Friday. Or the following Monday.

It is in the spirit of renewed commitment to regular publishing that the Opus announces that it will be out of print for two weeks, the week of 10/3 and the week of 10/10 as the staff of the Opus goes on a fact-finding mission to Egypt. What wisdom of the ancients can we apply in the DFL of 2005? The Opus will find out!
